Holly Larocque - Vocalist
Holly Larocque is the Big Band’s “Girl Singer”, and President and CEO of Holly Larocque Entertainment Inc. She is also chief imagineer, arbiter of Band etiquette (“No you may NOT spray your mouth full of aerosol cheese and stuff a big cracker in after”), custodian of health and welfare (“Don’t even THINK about any of you criminals coming down with a cold!”), and the victim of a great many Band jokes and wheezes. Asked what it is like to be the only Girl Singer travelling with all these men she has been known to respond “They are coping fairly well”.
1. If you were not a singer what would you be?
A Doctor. Aren’t you relieved that I am a singer?
2. If you could have a dinner party with any four figures from history whom would you invite?
Noel Coward, Charles Dickens, Walt Disney, and Jesus. Not necessarily in that order.
3. If you could live during any time period at all what would it be?
1940’s (post war) into the 1950’s. Although I have to say that now is working pretty well for me.
4. If you could have one movie prop for your very own what would you choose?
The reindeer ornaments from the opening scene of Miracle on 34th Street
5. Favourite movie?
White Christmas
6. Favourite book or author?
Jan Karon’s “Mitford” Novels
7. What is your most treasured possession?
I don’t consider my dog to be a possession so I will say my home.
8. What is your motto?
It is a toss up between “Through Adversity to the Stars”, “The Best of Times Is Now”, and “Anything for a Buck”.
9. Favourite word?
Incandescent.
10. What is your most marked characteristic?
Intensity
11. Which historical or fictional figure do you most identify with?
Jonathon Livingston Seagull
12. What is your favourite indulgence?
Books. Then a decaf cappuccino. Then more books.
13.If you could have personally witnessed any one event in history what would you like it to have been?
I would like to have seen Jesus do one of His miracles. But then perhaps I have.
14. If you could possess one supernatural ability what would it be?
Flying
15. If you were to cast any actor, living or dead, to play you in a film, who would you select?

Chocolate.

German Shepherd. Rose. Bee. Wings.
21. What television show, past or present, best represents your life?
The Dick Van Dyke Show
22. If you could be on the cover of any magazine, which one would it be and what would the headline be?
Time. The New Voice of Swing.
23. What is your best childhood memory?
A Christmas Eve afternoon walking with my sister and the dog then going home to have her finish reading “A Christmas Carol” to me. The world was completely secure and magical.
24. Pet peeve?
People who insist you take your shoes off in their house even when the weather is perfectly clear and fine. What’s next? Handing out suction cups so we can creep up the walls and never actually touch the floor??!!
25. If you were to fill a time capsule the size of a shoe box, to be opened hundreds of years from now, what would you put inside it to represent your life?
